Family portrait sessions are always so much fun when your pets come too! We had the pleasure of photographing this lovely family in our beautiful outdoor studio recently. What a great time we had chatting about dogs, giggling with their gorgeous baby boy, and taking some stunning family portrait pictures, of course!
Growing up with a pet really is the best! And this gorgeous little fellow has the best furry friend in Luca! Luca is a loveable staghound x bull arab mix with one of the most unique, natural fur collars we have seen!
While planning their family photoshoot with us, Luca’s mum described him as ‘a 45kg dog who thinks he’s a tiny lap dog’. How true this was!
Although Luca’s size could be quite intimidating to strangers, there was no question that he was a big old softie at heart! We couldn’t wait to meet him and his family for their portrait shoot! Especially after hearing how special Luca is to his family and how protective he is of his little brother!
It was heart-warming watching Luca interact with his loving family throughout their family photoshoot session. The most gorgeous part of course was watching Luca interact with his little brother!
Snack time!
They stole the show at their family portrait session when the pair decided to share a snack on the grass in our lovely outdoor photography studio! Luca would so gently take a dog treat from his brother’s tiny hand when offered with Mum and Dad standing by.
However, the main course was none other than a tasty… stick! And boy do we have plenty of those in our outdoor studio space! Every dog who comes to visit is very fond of our long grass and abundance of sticks to find while at their pet photoshoots with their families!
Luca thought the stick was a tasty treat, however, his human brother on the other hand was not so sure! But he gave it go with an open mind nonetheless!
Frances had the chance to take some stunning candid photos, and some black and white photos of the pair while they enjoyed their afternoon tea!
Luca showed off his many poses during the family group photos and gave us lots of ‘smiles’ as we moved between our different backdrop settings in our outdoor studio.
Our rustic tin shed backdrop is always popular for our family portrait photography sessions and pet photoshoots. Made to look like an old country house or porch photography setting – we find it the perfect spot for the entire family group to sit.
Luca sat front and centre on the top step of our rustic tin shed backdrop like a very good boy in between Mum and Dad! Luca behaved so well that we were able to pose his beautiful family around him to achieve a more traditional family portrait.
